PPL is the United Kingdom’s CMO (Collection Management Organisation), responsible for licensing broadcast organisations, shops, and venues. They then distribute royalties back to recording rights holders and performers for reported usages. Most countries have their own CMO like PPL, however, some will have multiple societies for recording rights holders and performers respectively.
